Strictly 2023 live updates and leaderboard scores as celebrities take to the dance floor for their first performances

Strictly Come Dancing returned last Saturday with a bang with this year's celebrity cohort being paired up with their professional dancers. And tonight, Saturday, September 23, viewers and audience members will watch on live as the stars take to the stage for the first time with their allocated dance pros hoping to impress returning judges; English ballroom dancer and head judge Shirley Ballas, aka 'the Queen of Latin', Australian-born choreographer Craig Revel Horwood, South African dancer Motsi Mabuse and ballroom and Latin dancer and former Strictly professional dancer Anton Du Beke.

The star-studded line-up this year features a whole host of familiar faces from the worlds of comedy, soap operas, sports and television. Comedian and former Family Fortunes presenter Les Dennis will be appearing alongside veteran broadcaster Angela Rippon, Channel 4 News presenter Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Irish TV presenter Angela Scanlon, comedian Eddie Kadi and BBC Asian Network’s Breakfast Show host Nikita Kanda.

It also contains soap stars past and present including former Coronation Street star Ellie Leach, EastEnders actor Bobby Brazier, former EastEnders star Nigel Harman and Waterloo Road star Adam Thomas. Paralympic champion Jody Cundy, former British number one tennis player Annabel Croft, Bad Education star Layton Williams, and actress Amanda Abbington complete the line-up with former Love Island star Zara McDermott, who is the show's first ever Love Island contestant.
