Stretch of main road closed off by police after early-hours crash - latest updates

A stretch of a main road in Tameside is closed this morning after a crash.

According to traffic alert service Inrix, the A635 Manchester Road in Audenshaw is closed between Snipe Way and Lumb Way, near the Snipe Retail Park. The westbound side of the road is shut.

The road has reportedly been shut since around 2am this morning. Officers remain on the scene.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed officers responded to a road-traffic collision at around 2.05am.

Traffic is slow in the surrounding area near the closure, which is near the Snipe Retail Park.

The A635 Manchester Road is currently closed on the westbound side.

It is shut between Snipe Way and Lumb Lane.
