Stretch of M67 closed due to 'police incident'
A stretch of the M67 was shut this morning due to an 'ongoing police incident'.
The eastbound side of the motorway was closed between junction 1 for Denton and Ashton-under-Lyne and junction 1A for Stockport Road. Officers were on the scene.
Drivers had been urged to plan their journeys this morning. A tweet posted by National Highways said: "The #M67 is closed eastbound between the J1 and J1A #Denton #GreaterManchester due to an ongoing police led incident.

The incident had cleared by 6.45am.
