Stoke City transfer notebook amid Josh Tymon to Leeds United link

Stoke City will continue their busy start to the transfer window over the next couple of weeks but don't expect Josh Tymon to be on the move.

Stoke, currently on a week-long training camp in Ireland, have brought in five new signings and signed off 11 departures already this summer and more business will be done ahead of the Championship opener in late July.

The budget has been tight due to Financial Fair Play rules and stories have emerged over the last couple of weeks linking Tymon, fresh from being a contender for player of the year in his first real season as a first team regular, with reported interest from Leeds, Rangers and Norwich City.

But those stories, with talk of a supposed asking price of £6million, have seriously undervalued a 23-year-old who Stoke see as a Premier League player in waiting. He also signed a long-term contract last winter that runs until 2025.

Tymon has been working hard in his off-season ready to build on the form he has shown at wing-back - and that will be at Stoke barring an exceptional turn of events.

Stoke are still working to add more new faces. That probably won't include Zander Clark, the free agent Scotland keeper who has left St Johnstone. Joe Bursik has been named number one in the provisional squad numbers and will compete for the gloves with Jack Bonham.
