Stirling Albion boss insists confidence high as they look for revenge on Accies trip

Stirling Albion boss Darren Young believes a change in his side’s fortunes is just around the corner as they aim for a win in their final crack at League One’s top two.

The Binos take on Hamilton Accies in high spirits despite falling to home defeat to Falkirk last time out, with the positive nature of their display offering hope for picking up points to secure their third-tier status.

Paul McLean’s early goal had Stirling dreaming of being the first side to topple the Bairns on league duty this season, but strikes from Callumn Morrison and Gary Oliver saw the leaders snatch the three points.

Stirling now take on the league’s second placed side in Accies, with the trip to New Douglas Park representing their final effort to give the division’s two top sides a bloody nose.

It will require a better display than their last trip to South Lanarkshire, when they were turned over 5-0 in November - with former Wallace High pupil Kevin O’Hara netting a hat-trick.

Raging Stirling gaffer Young locked his side in the dressing room for 45 minutes after that game and the Binos have performed better in their two home clashes with Hamilton, with two draws.

The first meeting of the sides in September saw the Binos roar back from being two goals down at half-time to snatch a 2-2 result with second half strikes from Aaron Dunsmore and Kyle Banner.

The most recent encounter came just over a fortnight ago on February 27, when the two sides couldn’t be separated in a 0-0 stalemate where Stirling could be considered somewhat unlucky not to claim three points.
