Frustrated Stirling Albion boss Darren Young and his players held a crunch 45 minute dressing room meeting after their 5-0 weekend mauling at Hamilton Accies condemned them to a third straight league defeat.
The Binos were blasted off the pitch at New Douglas Park by the on-fire hosts, with Stirling lad Kevin O’Hara haunting the visitors’ defence with a hat-trick and ex-Hearts kid Euan Henderson adding a brace of his own.
The big defeat leaves Albion down to seventh in the League One table and their strong start to the campaign looks a long way away ahead of a double header with in-form Cove Rangers across league and Scottish Cup in the next fortnight.
It was a particularly disappointing display in the wake of a poor performance at home to rivals Alloa at Forthbank in their previous fixture and the Binos have now won only once in their last nine league outings.
The Stirling boss said there were few positives from a disappointing afternoon, but hoped his side could come together after exchanging some “home truths” behind closed doors.
He said; “It wasn’t good enough, we know that.
“The only positive thing that has come out of it is the 45 minute meeting we’ve just had with the players in the dressing room. That was good and there were some home truths aired, it was good to hear from them and obviously ourselves as well.
“We’ve taken on board what they are saying and they understand what we are saying to them.
“It’s maybe a good thing this has happened now, we’re still in a good position and we knew at some point in the season that we would be here as the new team in the division.
