Steven Davis suffers Rangers dugout debut howler as nightmare continues after Cyprus humiliation - 5 talking points

Caretaker Steven Davis kicked off his Rangers interim spell in charge with a major flop as he watched his side crashed to a shock 2-1 defeat against Cypriot minnows Aris Limassol.

Cyriel Dessers thought he had levelled the game he broke through the resolute backline to slide the ball under Vana - but the flag quickly went up for offside. The Dutchman was made to wait but after a lengthy VAR check the striker was denied the equaliser. Sima would have the ball in the net next with a low finish from the right - but is was also ruled out. He wide man burst through but bundled over Eric Boakye in the build-up. That saw the goal chalked off and the Rangers man go into the book.

But things went from bad to worse when Babicka found the net. Bengtsson lost John Lundstram and whipped the ball across the six-yard box from the left flank, and the striker tapped the ball into the net to round off a sweeping counter attack.
