Steve McDonald names Henrik Larsson in Coronation Street confession as Celtic fans all say the same thing

Celtic hero Henrik Larssonearned a bizarre shoutout during Coronation Street - sparking a united front from the Parkhead support.

Larsson became known as the King of Kings during his legendary Celtic career as he enjoyed a trophy-laden spell at Parkhead after signing from Feyenoord - and has now earned a name check in the popular British soap. When asked on the show about who another character's favourite player is and how many hat-tricks he has scored, McDonald fires back: "I already know the answer. It's Henrik Larsson and seven." While he may have knowledge of the Celtic fan favourite - it is unclear where the hat-trick stat appeared from. During the Swede's time in Scotland he netted 13 hat-tricks just for the Hoops - before enjoying spells at Barcelona and Manchester United.

But it sparked some jabs from Celtic fans at co-star Jim McDonald - played by self-confessed Rangers fan Charlie Lawson. The Corrie legend, from Northern Ireland, hasn't been shy in professing his support for the Ibrox side - and that has earned him stick on social media with the clip circling. One fan said: "Jim McDonald just been sick."

Another chimed in on X: "His father Jim will be going mental." One punter joked: "Big Jim won't like that so he won't."
