Steve Cook sends message to Nottingham Forest supporters following play-off victory

Nottingham Forest took on Huddersfield Town this weekend in the Championship play-off final and following a Levi Colwill own goal, came away winners at 1-0.

Forest now look towards the Premier League next season after 23 years out of the top flight.

Not only the better team on the day, but the Reds deserve credit for the job they have done this season after being bottom of the Championship and rising up the league to even be in with a shot of automatic promotion at one stage.

One player who was part of the success only though was defender Steve Cook who joined the club from promotion rivals Bournemouth back in January.

Since coming into the club, Cook has made 14 Championship appearances as well as playing in every of the play-off games too.

Despite not being at the club for a long time, the 31-year-old has shown commitment to the club playing on through injuries and even when his Dad fell ill before the game against Bournemouth that could’ve secured them automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Following his side’s victory yesterday, he took to twitter to send a message to the supporters as he said: “What a journey! I love this club. Love the players and the fans. Enjoy the night. See you all tomorrow.”
