Stephen Bradley and Jon Daly among SSE Airtricity/Soccer Writers Ireland Awards Personality of the Year nominees

Shamrock Rovers manager Stephen Bradley and St Patrick's Athletic boss Jon Daly have earned nominations at the 2023 SSE Airtricity/Soccer Writers Ireland Awards after leading their respective clubs to silverware this season.

Bradley led the Hoops to a fourth SSE Airtricity Men's Premier Division title in a row and Daly, who guided the Saints to FAI Cup glory earlier this month, are among six nominees for Men's Personality of the Year.

Damien Duff is on the shortlist after a season which saw his Shelbourne side finish fourth and qualify for Europe, while Drogheda United counterpart Kevin Doherty is recognised for a solid season when the Louth side comfortably avoided the relegation battle despite the club's part-time status.

That managerial quartet are nominated alongside Shamrock Rovers defender Roberto Lopes and Ruairi Keating, who scored 15 goals in all competitions for Cork City. Keating has since signed for St Pat's ahead of next season.

Trophy-winning managers also lead the nominations for Women's Personality of the Year with James O'Callaghan having led Peamount United to the league title and Ciaran Kilduff guiding Athlone Town to their first ever Women's FAI Cup win this month.

Peamount captain Karen Duggan and Erin McLaughlin and team-mate Erin McLaughlin are also nominated alongside Athlone striker Dana Scheriff and Shamrock Rovers' Aine O'Gorman, who brought the curtain down on her long Republic of Ireland career this year after featuring during the summer's historic World Cup appearance in Australia.

Peamount's Niamh Reid Burke has also become the first woman nominated in the Goalkeeper of the Year category where she is joined by Shelbourne's Conor Kearns and Derry City's Brian Maher on the 2023 shortlist.
