Stefan Klos warns Dortmund about Rangers cauldron as former goalkeeper makes 'goodnight BVB' prediction

Former Rangers goalkeeper Stefan Klos has warned Borussia Dortmund it will be "difficult to survive" at Ibrox as he heaped praise on the Scottish champions.

The German won the Champions League with BVB before a successful spell between the posts in Scotland.

That means he had a keen eye on the first leg of the Europa League play-off at the Westfalenstadion as Gio van Bronckhorst 's side ran out 4-2 winners.

Dortmund were slaughtered by the German press, but Klos feels Rangers deserved plenty of credit for their stunning showing.

He told Sport1 : "They (Dortmund) were shockingly weak.

"I watched the game from BVB's point of view, but also through Rangers eyes. That was a confident performance.

"Coming from Scotland and then playing that way against BVB was worthy of every honour.

"They attacked early, took there chances and defended well. It was very brave.

"Anything could happen (in the second leg), BVB are capable of winning 4-0 and losing 4-0.

"They need to be as brave as Rangers were in Dortmund, but in any case it'll be difficult to survive at Ibrox.

"It's possible to go through, but if Rangers perform like they did in Dortmund then it's goodnight BVB."

And the Ibrox legend admitted he just doesn't know what to expect from another of his former sides.

Klos sighed: "There is a lack of consistency. The team can sweep over an opponent with enormous force like against Gladbach.

"But then there are embarrassing performances again. At BVB you never know what you're going to get this season. One can only wonder.

"They have quality, as the game against Gladbach shows that. But why don't they bring that out more regularly? The game against the Rangers was a very poor performance."
