Star-studded Gaydio Pride Awards are returning to iconic Manchester venue

The star-studded Gaydio Pride Awards are returning to Manchester next year, hosted at the iconic Hilton on Deansgate.

The glitzy ceremony, hosted by the UK's LGBTQ+ radio station, celebrates the efforts of charities, people and organisations that champion and support the LGBTQ+ community, with nominations for next year's awards now open.

At the first awards earlier this year, famous faces from film, TV and music attended the glittering ceremony to honour the LGBTQ+ community and allies - with huge performances on the night from number one artist Raye, a set from dance-legend Sigala and Drag Race UK winner Danny Beard.

This year, 13 categories will be open to nominees across the country, including Grassroots Pride of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Charity of the Year and LGBTQ+ Club or Sports Team of the Year.

Nominations for ten of the categories opened today (October 23) and will close on November 13. People are urged to submit nominations to 'shine a light on the people, charities, events and organisations that are making a positive difference to the lives of the LGBTQ+ community across the UK.'

Nominees will then be whittled down to a shortlist before the winners will be chosen by a panel of independent community judges on the night, February 16.

Last year, Greater Manchester took home three awards from their five shortlisted categories, firstly with their joint win of Major Pride of the Year with Manchester Pride, Birmingham Pride, Brighton + Hove Pride and Pride in London.
