Diogo Dalot picks out the quality Manchester United have shown in last two games

Manchester United's back-to-back wins against Brentford and Sheffield United have won few points for style, but Diogo Dalot has praised the side's ability to win scrappy games as they look to maintain their momentum this week.

The 2-1 wins before and after the international break have moved United up to eighth in the Premier League and means they have now won six and lost six in all competitions this season.

The performances against two struggling sides haven't entirely convinced, with Scott McTominay scoring twice in injury-time against the Bees and Dalot hitting a superb winner 13 minutes from time against Bramall Lane, and the Portuguese right-back believes that ability to grind out the victories is a positive trait within the side.

"Every game for us is an opportunity to show we want to build confidence, build momentum. When you win games it’s easier to get that confidence," he said.

"We’ve shown in these games when you don’t play the way you’d like to play you have to find a way to win, we’ve shown that quality, we have fantastic players who can show up and turn up and win games. We have to use these wins to build confidence and momentum."

Dalot played his part in Yorkshire on Saturday night, scoring a goal that Erik ten Hag compared to one of Sir Bobby Charlton's at Wembley that he had watched.

The 24-year-old was delighted to hear that and is one of the few United players to have met Charlton, who died at the age of 86 on Saturday morning.

More tributes will be paid to the United great against FC Copenhagen tomorrow and Dalot wants to do all he can to follow in the footsteps
