'Stabbed man turns up at shop before potential crime scene identified in woods' - latest updates

An investigation has been launched after a man turned up at a shop having been stabbed, the Manchester Evening News understands.

The 54-year-old was attacked on in the Goshen estate area of Bury shortly before 11am on Saturday (February 12), it is understood.

It is thought he was taken to North Manchester General Hospital, where his injuries are being assessed.

The M.E.N. has learned the man turned up injured at an off-licence.

A 'potential scene' was later identified in a 'nearby a wooded area'.

Images from the scene show a police cordon on Tennyson Avenue, with an officer guarding the scene.

A wooded area runs adjacent to the road.

The shop is also being treated as a scene, it is understood.

We'll bring you the latest in the live blog below.
