Man United striker Mason Greenwood removed from Football Manager 2022 in latest update

Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood has been removed from Football Manager 2022, following the release of the updated Main Winter Update database.

On Thursday, February 24, 2022, Sports Interactive confirmed the release of the Main Winter Update for Football Manager 2022, with players now able to use an updated database (22.3.0) for their new save games, which features all of the updated transfers around the world, attribute changes, game fixes and much more. In the new FM22 database, Manchester United striker Greenwood does not appear.

"Any player or official serving an indefinite suspension from football, for whatever reason, has been removed from Football Manager in the latest update," A Sports Interactive spokesperson told Manchester Evening News.

"If and when that suspension is lifted, the player or official will be reinstated at the next scheduled opportunity."

EA Sports removed Greenwood from FIFA 22 on February 1, 2022, following the release of a database update, which removed the forward from the popular football simulation gaming title completely in offline modes, FIFA 22 Ultimate Team packs and FIFA 22 Ultimate Team drafts. But, Greenwood's FUT 22 player item can still be bought and sold via the game mode's internal transfer market system.

"Mason Greenwood has been removed from active squads in FIFA 22 and has also been suspended from appearing in FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT) packs and Ultimate Draft." An EA Sports spokesperson told Manchester Evening News.

Greenwood was arrested on suspicion of rape and assault on January 30 following allegations he was violent towards a woman. He was then further arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and threats to kill, before being released on bail on Wednesday,
