'Spurs will sign...' - Alasdair Gold issues big transfer claim, he's 'pretty sure'

Journalist Alasdair Gold has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur will sign a new striker in the summer transfer market. 

At the end of the season, there will be plenty of eyes on north London regarding Spurs’ striker situation. Indeed, Harry Kane’s future has been under great speculation for some time now and Manchester United are the latest club to be linked with a move for him.

However, the focus won’t simply be on the player who might leave, as Tottenham fans will likely want to know about any possible incomings and what could happen to talented youngster Dane Scarlett – who recently scored for England’s U19s.

While discussing how Spurs should manage Scarlett next season, Gold spoke on his YouTube channel, claiming that he believes a new striker will certainly come in even if Kane stays, and hoped Scarlett will get his chance to step up, too.

He said: “What I would do next season, I’d give him the first half of the season at Tottenham.

“I’m pretty sure Spurs will sign another striker, but let him [Scarlett], the other striker and Kane, get bits of games.

“Obviously, Kane’s gonna get the majority of the game time. But for Dane to get a little bit of minutes here and there in European competition, which hopefully Spurs will have, and then maybe it comes to January and then you decide, okay, is now the time to let him have half a season playing every week somewhere? Maybe it would be League One, League Two, whatever it is, possibly Championship.

“And then that’s when you kick him on a little bit.”
