'I'm now not so sure about that' - Journalist hints at worrying change of heart at Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is expected to still be playing in north London at the beginning of next season amid reports.  

This is according to the reliable journalist Jack Pitt-Brooke, who was speaking on the latest episode of The View From The Lane podcast.

Last summer saw Kane’s time at Spurs come under serious questioning, with a potential move to Manchester City being heavily reported.

And although it now seems City may have found their striker for the future in Erling Haaland, a move to the other side of Manchester is now being suggested.

Despite the links to a possible move north to Old Trafford this summer, Pitt-Brooke believes Spurs fans can expect to see the 28-year-old playing in N17 come the start of the new season.

He said: “I used to think that he would sign a new contract at the end of this season. I’m now not so sure about that.

“But ultimately – and the only thing that matters is this – there’s no chance in hell that Daniel Levy sells him to anyone, certainly not to Manchester United. Especially not to a United team that finishes below them. So I would expect Kane to still be at Tottenham for the start of next season.”

It was apparent Kane wanted to leave Spurs last summer, however, with City looking likely to seal the services of Haaland, we do wonder how he views his future.

With United currently in a worse position than Spurs, which club could realistically offer Kane an attractive proposal that he would be willing to accept as he edges closer to his 30s?

The striker now has two years remaining on his deal with Spurs, so we do wonder whether securing Champions League football may tempt Kane into signing a new deal.
