Spurs transfer news: Tottenham are 'relaxed' about Harry Kane's current situation

Journalist Pete O’Rourke reckons that Tottenham are “relaxed” about Harry Kane’s current situation.

The striker will have just two years remaining on his Spurs contract at the end of the season and is expected to make a decision regarding his future in the summer.

Exit talk isn’t having a negative impact on Kane’s form on the pitch, with five goals in his last seven games, including two against Manchester City last weekend.

Kane might have scored just seven Premier League goals, which has put him on course for his worst return in the top-flight since he broke into the senior team, but he has been one of Spurs’ best performers under Antonio Conte.

However, Tottenham’s own form has left their Champions League hopes in tatters, with the FA Cup their only chance of lifting silverware and salvaging something from this season.

Kane is a “huge admirer” of Conte and is enjoying playing under the Italian, but his decision to extend his stay at his boyhood club could rest on how Tottenham perform in the transfer market.

Furthermore, the 28-year-old is not interested in signing a new contract, with his current one set to expire at the end of the 2023-2024 campaign.

But O’Rourke reckons that the Tottenham hierarchy are staying calm about the whole situation.

When asked about Kane’s future at Tottenham, he told GIVEMESPORT: “I think Spurs are quite relaxed about the situation.

“He’s under contract until 2024, so there’s no massive rush to sell him right now and it would take a money offer to convince Spurs to sell him.”
