SPFL Trust Trophy quarter-final and semi-final draw: East Kilbride land Ayr United tie after stunning Airdrie

East Kilbride's reward for knocking defending champions Airdrie out the SPFL Trust Trophy last week is a home tie with Scott Brown's Championship high-flyers Ayr United.

Kilby stunned the Diamonds last Saturday with a 6-5 penalty shootout victory over Rhys McCabe's men, who forced the shootout with a late equaliser in the 1-1 draw.

And now Mick Kennedy's Lowland League side will face another team from tier two as they bid to reach their first semi-final of a major competition.

They are the only Lanarkshire side remaining in the tournament after Hamilton Accies, the 2023 winners, also crashed out at the fourth round stage, losing 1-0 to Morton.

And EK also know their potential semi-final opponents after the draw for both the quartere-finals and last four were made at Hampden this afternoon. If EK manage to get past Ayr, they would face the winner of the last eight te between Queen's Park and either Rangers B/Stenhousemuir, who have yet to play their fourth round tie.

The draw in full is as follows:

QUARTER-FINALS:

Livingston v Morton

East Kilbride v Ayr United

Dunfermline v Alloa Athletic

Queen's Park v Rangers B/Stenhousemuir

SEMI-FINALS:

Queen's Park/Rangers B or Stenhousemuir v East Kilbride/Ayr United

Dunfermline/Alloa v Livingston/Morton

The quarter-final ties will be played on the midweek of November 12/13, with the semi-finals not held until next year on the midweek of January 28/29. The final will be held on the weekend of March 22/23 or 29/30.
