Soyfyan Amrabat could offer Manchester United midfield tweak in key Casemiro role

Manchester United could continue their midfield overhaul this summer through the arrival of Sofyan Amrabat.

The Morocco international rose to global attention for his memorable sliding challenge on Kylian Mbappe in the World Cup semi-final. Chasing down the PSG forward, Amrabat seamlessly came away with the ball after his perfectly-timed, inch-perfect tackle to thwart the France skipper down the left channel.

His reputation was significantly enhanced during Morocco's magical World Cup run, but there is much more to the Fiorentina midfielder than one viral clip. United have been linked with a cut-price move for Amrabat, who has one year remaining on his contract, should Scott McTominay leave Old Trafford this summer.

Erik ten Hag has significantly bolstered United’s midfield options during his first year at the club, bringing in Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, and Mason Mount. The arrival of Casemiro from Real Madrid proved to be a key move last season as the team lifted a trophy and secured Champions League football - but Amrabat would be an interesting addition to United's midfield.
