Southampton: 37 y/o manager 'interesting' amid Hasenhuttl doubts at St Mary's
Southampton could make a ‘really interesting’ appointment by handing Domenico Tedesco the St Mary’s reins, while Bo Svensson also ‘fits the bill’ as a Ralph Hasenhuttl successor, according to journalist Dean Jones.
Saints are only separated from the relegation zone by one point following a worrying start to the Premier League campaign.
According to The Telegraph, Hasenhuttl is on the brink of the sack and the Southampton hierarchy are now considering the timing of his dismissal.
The report suggests the Austrian has been under pressure for some time and Sport Republic, who completed a takeover during the early stages of 2022, are preparing to make a change in the dugout.
It comes after it was reported in August that Hasenhuttl had lost the trust of several players within the dressing room and members of the squad were surprised that he was not axed during the summer.
Southampton are understood to be considering Tedesco as a potential successor to the 55-year-old as they ramp up their search.
The 37-year-old has been out of work since being given the boot by Bundesliga giants RB Leipzig just a matter of hours after their Champions League group stage-opening defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk last month.

Jones believes Tedesco and Svensson are in the running to replace Hasenhuttl in the Southampton hot seat.
The journalist feels both men could make the Saints job their own and lead the south coast club away from the wrong end of the Premier League table.
