Sources: Coventry City open-minded over 23-year-old’s short-term future

Coventry City will consider any bids that come in for Callum O’Hare in the summer transfer window, sources have revealed to Football League World ahead of the season’s end.

Mark Robins’ side are drifting towards the end of the campaign on a roll now, following a 3-1 win over runaway league leaders, Fulham, yesterday – a game in which O’Hare was on the scoresheet.

That was O’Hare’s fourth goal in 40 Championship appearances, whilst the 23-year-old has registered a further seven assists for the Sky Blues, who are 10th in the current league table and six points adrift of the play-offs.

It’s been explained to Football League World that there will be a decision to make on O’Hare in the summer transfer window if bids start to roll in for the playmaker. Should a big offer arrive, Coventry will give it careful consideration heading into 2022/23.

That’s despite how crucial O’Hare is to the continued growth of the club back in the Championship, with it believed that any sale would bring in a significant fee to be reinvested.

O’Hare only extended his stay at the CBS Arena back in January of this year, agreeing terms with Coventry until the summer of 2024, leaving him with two years on his current Coventry deal.

O’Hare first joined Coventry on loan from Aston Villa in the 2019/20 season and has since gone on to make 130 appearances for the Sky Blues, helping them transition from League One into the Championship with relative ease after a permanent move.

Coventry face Birmingham City and AFC Bournemouth over the Easter weekend, as Robins’ side look to finish on 2021/22 on the right note and keep pressure on the top-six.
