Solheim Cup now an integral part of Leona Maguire’s DNA

No doubt the trademark wraparound sunglasses have been polished for her latest mission. Leona Maguire – aka the Silent Assassin or, to a number of her Europe team-mates, known simply as MVP – will make a fourth Solheim Cup appearance for the match against the United States at Bernardus golf club in the Netherlands this week.

For Maguire, a wild card pick by captain Anna Nordqvist, the Solheim Cup has become an integral part of her DNA. She and the Waterford Crystal trophy are inextricably linked at this point, regardless of whatever happens in her own individual career going forward, where contending and winning Majors remains a career goal.
