Sky Sports reporter drops Finch Farm claim on 6'2 Everton ace "not showing he's the answer"

Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge does not think Everton star Dele Alli is showing in training that he is the answer to the Toffees’ problems.

The 26-year-old has been constantly overlooked by Frank Lampard following his Goodison Park arrival in the January transfer window, and Bridge reckons he needs to do more at Finch Farm.

Alli is going through a difficult time at Everton, failing to make a single start under Frank Lampard so far.

Former Premier League manager Neil Warnock, however, has sympathy for the 6 ft 2 attacking midfielder and believes Everton’s lack of quality is partly to blame for his struggles.

“When I look at Dele, I feel sorry for him,” Warnock recently said on Sky Sports (via the Liverpool Echo). “Everton aren’t a team good enough or strong enough to give him the ball in the right areas.”

If things do not improve, Alli could be given the chop, with TEAMtalk reporting that Everton are already planning to offload the ex-Tottenham man.

Bridge believes Alli has to prove to Lampard that he can be of use and has suggested that things off the pitch have perhaps had an impact on the Englishman’s career.

On Alli, the Sky Sports reporter said: “I just think in training he’s not showing that he’s the answer. Now, what’s happened to him over the years, is he completely to blame? Has his PR or his social life got the better of him? When these things get in the way, it does get in the way of the playing side.”

If this Everton move does not work out for the 37-cap England international, perhaps dropping down to a Championship club could do him some good.
