Sky Sports drop live TV update as Leeds now handed fresh hope to sign Aaronson before February 1

Leeds United remain locked in talks with RB Salzburg over a move for key target Brenden Aaronson, and Sky Sports report the player himself is now ‘keen’ to join up with Marcelo Bielsa.

The Whites have made Aaronson their key winter window target and have submitted two bids for the attacking midfielder this month.

Aaronson is currently away with the USA and was coy when quizzed on a move to Yorkshire, with Leeds already having a £15m offer rejected.

They returned with a second bid in the region of £20m which is also yet to be accepted and haven’t given up hope of landing the 21-year-old before February 1.

Dharmesh Sheth and Kaveh Solhekol rounded up the latest Premier League transfer news on Monday live on Sky Sports.

Sky Sports posted the clip on their transfer blog (24/01, 17:44) and when it came to Leeds, they claimed that the Whites ‘remain in talks’ over a move for Aaronson with the player ‘keen on a move’ to Elland Road.

Salzburg appear to be reluctant sellers, but it seems as if a winter window switch is still a possibility due to the player’s desire to join.

There seems to be fresh hope regarding a move for Aaronson, however, Victor Orta can’t afford any more knockbacks with the deadline looming.

Any move to Leeds now would involve the attacking midfielder agreeing on personal terms and undergoing a medical while away with his country, which shouldn’t complicate things too much but could certainly slow it all down.

Agreeing a fee with Salzburg is also seemingly proving difficult, but hopefully, Leeds can finally strike a deal ahead of the weekend which would give plenty of time for a transfer to officially go through.
