Sizzling second half sees Griquas down Western Province in Cape Town
An incredible second half in which they scored 32 unanswered points saw Griquas secure an impressive 32-13 win over Western Province at Cape Town Stadium on Saturday evening.
Province took a 13-0 lead into half-time thanks to two penalties from flyhalf Kade Wolhunter and a converted try from winger Fazeel Robertson.
The second half was a different affair, however, and by the 57th minute, Griquas had surged into a 22-13 lead.
That was thanks to tries from Eddie Fouche, Reagan Oranje and Jay-Cee Nel.
George Whitehead converted two and added a penalty as Griquas had turned the game on its head.
Whitehead stepped up again in the 68th minute to land another penalty and push the lead out to 25-13.
The visitors were full value for their bonus point, which they secured on the stroke of full-time thanks to a converted try from lock Derik Pretorius.
