Sittingbourne continue perfect start under new manager Reece Prestedge but there’s a blow on the injury front for defender Yannis Ambroisine

Sittingbourne defender Yannis Ambroisine is facing a lengthy absence in a “kick in the teeth” for new manager Reece Prestedge.

But it’s been a dream start in terms of results for Prestedge, who has won three out of three since succeeding Ryan Maxwell last week.

Centre-back Ambroisine suffered a suspected ACL knee injury during the Brickies’ 2-0 Isthmian South East win at VCD on Saturday.

“He’s got a young family, so you’ve got to respect that and understand his wishes.

“I’m gutted at the same time, because Chrissy’s a quality player, but his final game for us he was excellent, he scored a goal and made sure we got the win.

“He was professional throughout. Of course, players are going to get interest, so you just have to deal with it.

“We’re getting players back and we’re looking to strengthen. We just have to roll with the punches.”
