Sir Jim Ratcliffe sent Manchester United transfer warning over Erik ten Hag 'mistakes'
Teddy Sheringham says Erik ten Hag has made a number of transfer errors during his time as Manchester United boss and is not confident that Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s arrival will be the antidote.
United have splashed out more than £400million on new signings during Ten Hag’s 18-month tenure with many questioning whether there has been value for money amid the club’s poor season. Antony became the club’s second-most expensive transfer at £85.1m but the winger has largely underwhelmed.
Meanwhile, despite a good maiden year, Casemiro’s form had drastically dipped before his long-term setback with Christian Eriksen currently out injured too. Summer arrivals Mason Mount and Andre Onana have failed to hit the ground running at Old Trafford while Rasmus Hojlund is yet to score in 12 Premier League games, albeit has five goals in the Champions League.

Ratcliffe is set to oversee sporting matters upon his £1.3billion investment in a 25 per cent stake, with his purchase set to be ratified in the coming weeks. He will have a big sway in the boardroom but the Glazers as majority shareholders will ultimately always have the final say.
And it’s because of this dynamic that Sheringham is hesitant to get over-excited about the Ineos chief’s forthcoming arrival. Ratcliffe is expected to enact a boardroom reshuffle after years of poor transfer decision-making.
“When you look at Manchester United’s ability to sign the world’s best players, then the club needs to take some responsibility for not having the correct recruitment structure in place and Erik ten Hag has to hold his hands up for
