Sir Jim Ratcliffe given Marcus Rashford transfer instruction as Man United learn £21m incentive

Manchester United have been urged to sell Marcus Rashford in the summer transfer window. The 26-year-old faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford following his disappointing performances for Erik ten Hag's side.

Rashford, who sees his contract expire in 2028, has featured 31 times in the Premier League this season, scoring seven goals and providing two assists. Not only has he struggled to help the Red Devils secure Champions League qualification but the forward also lost his place in Gareth Southgate's starting lineup.

The England international was reduced to a 15-minute cameo off the bench in March, with Phil Foden, Anthony Gordon and Jarrod Bowen preferred – even with Bukayo Saka and Jack Grealish absent due to injury. Nevertheless, talkSPORT host Ally McCoist believes Rashford needs a 'fresh challenge' to rediscover his mojo.

"Looking at Marcus Rashford, I honestly believe it’s in the best interest of all parties that he goes and gets a fresh challenge somewhere else," the former Rangers striker told talkSPORT.

"I think he needs it and I think the Manchester United fans are beginning to run out of patience with him and a few others in the side. I look at his body language and he just doesn’t look happy."

Rashford has reportedly emerged as a target for Paris Saint-Germain ahead of the summer. Kylian Mbappe is due to depart the French capital at the end of the season and it's been claimed that the Manchester United star has been identified as a potential replacement.
