What was said to Marcus Rashford during angry Manchester United warm-up incident

Marcus Rashford faced a direct challenge from a frustrated Manchester United fan before their thrilling 3-2 victory over Newcastle at Old Trafford.

The 26-year-old England striker, who has had a less-than-stellar season with just eight goals in 41 appearances, was confronted during the pre-match warm-up. As Rashford and the substitutes were practising in the bottom right-hand corner of the pitch near the Stretford End, a fan reportedly moved down several rows to address him, saying: "If you wanna go, go!"

This remark was seemingly linked to the growing rumours about Rashford's future at the club, despite him signing a new five-year deal last July that ties him to his childhood team until 2026. The Mirror previously reported in March that PSG might place a £75million offer for Rashford as they anticipate Kylian Mbappe's potential move to Real Madrid, while the Manchester Evening News understands United will listen to offers for all players this summer except Andre Onana, Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund.

A video that has since spread widely on social media shows Rashford pausing his warm-up to approach the fan, who gestured towards the United emblem on his jacket. Rashford, clearly irked by the fan's outburst, responded while gesturing to his own shirt's badge: "Why don't you go?"
