Simon Jordan tells Michael Beale he has 'bigger fish to fry' but insists Chris Sutton has a point about Rangers boss

Simon Jordan has waded in to the spat between Michael Beale and Chris Sutton over Malik Tillman's controversial goal against Partick Thistle.

The former Crystal Palace owner said he agreed with the ex-Celtic striker when he goaded the Rangers manager by questioning if Beale would have gifted Ange Postecoglou's side a goal. During the Scottish Cup tie with Thistle the Light Blues allowed Scott Tiffoney to score an uncontested goal after Beale instructed captain James Tavernier to inform his players of the plan. It came after the home side put the ball out for Tillman to get treatment for an injury. Thistle captain Kevin Holt looked to launch a long ball from a throw-in back into the Gers half, but Tillman robbed him and ran through to round Jamie Sneddon and put the ball in the net, to the fury of the Jags.

Beale hit back at Sutton during his press conference on Thursday, branding Sutton the "worst ever player" to play for Chelsea and a "comedy act". Not to feel left out during an argument, Jordan jumped in with his own scathing attack on Beale by saying that he agreed with Sutton.

He told talkSport: "There's something in what Chris Sutton has said, but I don't know why he wants to take this on. He's got bigger fish to fry by trying to make sure Rangers are competitive than to take on Chris Sutton, who often reminds me of John Lydon in the press, and what is a kind of provocative comment.

"There's something in it, I wonder if he would do it if it was Celtic in an Old Firm so I don't really feel that Michael needs to get involved in that conversation.
