Significant update emerges around Burnley’s interest in Championship midfielder

Burnley have had several bids to sign Coventry City midfielder Callum O’Hare knocked back, a report from Football Insider has claimed.

O’Hare enjoyed an impressive campaign for the Sky Blues last season, scoring five goals and providing eight assists in 45 Championship games as the club finished 12th in the second-tier standings.

Reports over the weekend claimed that Burnley are now taking an interest in O’Hare, potentially as a replacement for Dwight McNeil.

Now it seems as though work has already begun to try and bring the 24-year-old to Turf Moor, albeit unsuccessfully do far.

According to this latest update, Burnley have already had offers rejected for the midfielder, with Coventry keen to retain the services of O’Hare.

However, the Sky Blues are said to be braced for another offer to come in from Burnley before the summer transfer window closes, and are previously reported to have placed on £5million valuation on O’Hare.

As things stand, there are still two years remaining on O’Hare’s contract with Coventry, securing his future at The CBS Arena until the end of the 2023/24 season.

The Verdict

It is no surprise that Coventry have apparently rejected these offers for O’Hare from Burnley.

The midfielder has been a key player for the Sky Blues throughout his time with the club, si they are not going to want to let him go easily.

Indeed, with the length of time there is remaining on his contract as well, you also feel they will be inclined to knock back these early bids, since they have the scope to negotiate a higher fee here.
