Should Rangers goal have been disallowed and are Celtic Champions League ready? Monday Jury

KEITH JACKSON: Absolutely. Referee Don Robertson was correct not to award the foul the first time around and should have stuck to his guns when asked by VAR to take another look. That was a mess entirely of Gustaf Lagerbielke’s own making.

CRAIG SWAN: The officials probably just got it right but the debate is whether it was a clear and obvious error to overturn.

ANDY NEWPORT: It’s a tough one but I’d say that it was the right call under the current rules, harsh as Rangers may view that.

MICHAEL GANNON: It was a soft one but by the letter of the law it was a foul and VAR had to get involved as it was a game-changing moment.

KEITH: All over the pitch. No width or attacking threat down flanks, no pressure on Callum McGregor, no composure in final third and no signs of a playing style or identity. Pressure is starting to tell on an inexperienced boss bouncing from one bad idea to the next.

CRAIG: Having found a way to halt McGregor last season, they abandoned the plan and that was a mistake.

ANDY: You can follow the roots of this back to the summer. Nine new signings in but only three deemed good enough to start and one of those was enforced by injuries. Rangers were second best last year and have not added enough to change that.

MICHAEL: Rangers signed a whack of forward players but there seems no plan how to use them. Going back to Roofe and Matondo suggests a lack of faith in the new recruits. They still don’t have any identity and allowed McGregor to dictate.

KEITH: He needs to go on a run of wins after the international break and that includes all the way to a League Cup triumph. If Beale can deliver the trophy he’ll buy himself some breathing space. If he should fail he’ll struggle to survive the aftermath.

CRAIG: Yes
