Sheffield Wednesday seal second summer signing as ex-Fulham man David Stockdale completes move
Sheffield Wednesday have made their second signing in 24 hours with the arrival of David Stockdale. The experienced shot-stopper will officially join the Owls on July 1 following the expiry of his Wycombe Wanderers contract.
exclusively revealed that Wednesday were in talks in to sign Stockdale last week. Although the Chairboys offered Stockdale a new deal, the lure of a move back to Yorkshire proved too difficult for the 36-year-old to refuse.
After agreeing personal terms with the Owls, Leeds-born Stockdale underwent his medical this week. His impending arrival follows swiftly on from defender Ben Heneghan, which was announced yesterday afternoon. As is Wednesday's policy, the club have not divulged the length of Stockdale's contract.

Stockdale, who won the League One golden glove last season as the Chairboys reached the play-off final, strengthens Wednesday's options in the goalkeeping department. He is expected to challenge Cameron Dawson for the No 1 spot next season.
It remains a mystery whether Joe Wildsmith will pen a new contract and extend his Owls stay. Wildsmith largely provided back up to Bailey Peacock-Farrell last season.
Stockdale represents a solid piece of business from the Owls. He played every League One match for Wycombe last season, racking up 18 clean sheets in the process.
The former Fulham, Birmingham City and Brighton Hove Albion goalkeeper has made over 440 club appearances during his 19-year playing career. Wednesday will be the 17th club Stockdale has played for and he will be looking to add to his 132 shut-outs.
