Sheffield United tipped to launch bid for Malmo defender Anel Ahmedhodzic

Sheffield United are reportedly set to launch a £3million bid for Malmo and Bosnian international defender Anel Ahmedhodzic.

The 23-year-old, who spent the 21/22 campaign on loan with Ligue 1 side Bordeaux on loan from Malmo, is also thought to be of interest for fellow Championship side Blackburn Rovers too, according to The Sun.

After a fifth placed finish in the Championship last season, the Blades fell short via the play-offs, crashing out to eventual winners Nottingham Forest in the semi final.

Ahmedhodzic, featured 12 times for Malmo during the sides Champions League group stage ties against Chelsea, Juventus and Zenit. The centre back then moved to France where David Guion's side were unfortunately relegated to Ligue 1 with United now hoping to agree a cut-throat deal for the defender.

An international with Bosnia, the former Chelsea target has featured 18 times for his country and was once on the books at Nottingham Forest too. AC Milan are another side who have been linked with the player, with the Blades now set to battle it out this summer to secure his services.
