Sheffield United new boy Anel Ahmedhodzic makes exciting vow to Blades supporters

Anel Ahmedhodzic believes talk is cheap and has told fans he will show them what he can do 'on the pitch'. The 23-year-old has signed for Sheffield United after putting pen to paper on a four-year deal this afternoon.

The Bosnian international has been manager Paul Heckingbottom's top transfer target and the deal is the result of a lot of hard work having first tried to sign him in January.

Key to the deal is Jack Lester. The Blades first team coach worked with him at Nottingham Forest in the early stages of his career and was keen to team up with him once again.

Speaking at the club's training base here in Portugal, Anel said: "It feels amazing. It's been three hectic days, a lot of testing but to be out here with the players is a really good feeling.

"I have had a good feeling from the group. They are nice guys.

"Jack Lester was part of the reason I came here. I really liked him when I was at Nottingham Forest. He liked to scream at me but it was what I needed. I realised it after that the time we had together was amazing. I think we can have an even better time now.

"January would have been a good idea to come here but I chose to come to Bordeaux. It was a good experience there and now I am very happy to be here."

Asked what fans can expect, Anel added: "I don't want to talk much about myself, I would rather show it on the pitch. I didn't think Sheffield was that beautiful.

"I heard it was a steel city. Jack told me about it and I didn't believe it until I went there and saw it with my own eyes. It was beautiful and the stadium is amazing."
