Sheffield United in link to Leeds United talent who could be similar to Morgan Gibbs-White

Sheffield United are being credited with interest in Leeds United youngster Crysencio Summerville. The transfer link may come as a surprise to Blades fans.

The 20-year-old is primarily seen as a wide man but Heckingbottom would have to convert him to a more central position for him to fit his style of play.

United, according to the Athletic, are one of a number of clubs said to be keen on the Dutchman, who came through the ranks at Feyenoord before making the move to Elland Road in 2020.

He has featured nine times for Leeds and, according to the report, was keen to leave on loan in January. Also said to be interested in him is Nottingham Forest and teams from abroad.

United have been linked with a clutch of players so far since the opening of the transfer window earlier in the month. Similar to former loanee Morgan Gibbs-White, who was viewed as a winger by Wolves but had the talent to play through the middle, the only way Paul Heckingbottom would be interested in Summerville is if he could do the same.

Gibbs-White's flexibility in being able to play further inside made him an ideal fit for the style of football preferred by both Slavisa Jokanovic and Heckingbottom.

United are in need of a player to replace Gibbs-White and Summerville is said to possess impressive dribbling and attacking skills.

The only way Heckingbottom would be interested is if he is looking to use those attributes, combined with the exuberance of youth, in a more central role as he looks to plug the gap left by Gibbs-White.
