Morgan Gibbs-White and Matheus Nunes transfer latest as Wolves receive £8m demand

Crystal Palace and Everton are reportedly battling out for the signature of Wolves midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White.

The midfielder has recently linked up with Bruno Lage's side for pre-season training after an impressive campaign on loan at Sheffield United. Gibbs-White, who still has two years left on his current deal, is said to have been offered fresh terms but is yet to put pen to paper.

Wolves want in excess of £25million for their academy graduate amid uncertainty surrounding his future at Molineux. Eagles manager Patrick Vieira is seeking a replacement to fill the gap left by Conor Gallagher, who has returned to his parent club Chelsea after his loan stint last term, and Gibbs-White is reportedly an option.

Nottingham Forest are also interested in signing Gibbs-White, whose stock has risen considerably in the last 12 months. Gibbs-White’s 22 goal contributions - 12 goals and 10 assists - in the Championship for Sheffield United last season has led to widespread transfer interest.

Chelsea have joined the race to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers transfer target Matheus Nunes.

Nunes has enjoyed two stellar years at Sporting and is rated highly by Wolves head coach Bruno Lage. The club have been heavily linked with a move for the 23-year-old midfielder throughout the summer transfer window.

But a deal for Nunes was always likely to be difficult to complete due to the player’s desire to fight for top honours. Nunes caught the eye in the Champions League last season, earning praise from Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, and wants to stay in European football’s top tier competition.
