Sharks could lose Bok wing to Bulls - report

Springbok wing Sbu Nkosi's future at the Sharks appears uncertain, with the 2019 World Cup winner linked with a possible move to the Bulls.

The 26-year-old has been on the Sharks' books since 2016 and made his Test debut against England at Ellis Park in 2018.

To date, Nkosi has played 16 Tests.

He's contracted to the Sharks until the end of 2022, but the union's CEO Eduard Coetzee hinted in an interview with TimesLIVE that the player could leave.

"We are still negotiating with Sbu. We've got a lot of high-profile players like Siya Kolisi, Bongi Mbonambi, Makazole Mapimpi, Lukhanyo Am and obviously they all cost a lot of money," Coetzee said.

"We would definitely like to keep Sbu but we haven't agreed just beyond his current contract. There's a possibility he might leave but nothing has been confirmed."

It is believed that the Sharks' rivals, the Bulls, could be a potential new destination should Nkosi not extend his stay in Durban.

Nkosi was pulled out of the Sharks line-up just before last week's United Rugby Championship clash against Welsh side Scarlets, with the Durban-franchise saying it was due to a stomach bug.

He was also not included for Saturday's clash at Kings Park against Italian outfit Zebre.

Kick-off is at 18:30.
