Great away days await Man City if they avoid Liverpool FC and Chelsea in Champions League

After the Champions League round-of-16 concluded on Wednesday night, Manchester City and their supporters can now look forward to finding out who awaits them in the quarter-finals. Thousands of Blues will have Skyscanner and Booking.com at the ready for the minute they found out where they will be jetting (or training) off too.

With no restrictions in place for the last-eight, City could come up against Liverpool, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Villarreal, Bayern Munich or Benfica. Given City's record against English clubs in Europe, the Blues will be hoping to avoid the first two teams on that list.

In some ways it feels like Blues have unfinished business with Madrid. The Spanish capital - more specifically the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu - was the scene of one of City's greatest European nights, a come-from-behind 2-1 win against Real Madrid in February 2020.
