Several stars are considering following Cody Rhodes in leaving AEW for WWE

Cody Rhodes has been an undeniable success story since leaving AEW for WWE earlier this year.

Rhodes, despite being one of AEW’s founding members, left the promotion in February, joining WWE just two months later.

To their credit, WWE has handled Rhodes tremendously well since being back in WWE, and has booked him as one of its top stars.

In fact, on Sunday night, Rhodes will likely be main eventing a WWE pay-per-view for the very first time, when he competes inside Hell in a Cell with Seth Rollins.

Several people within AEW are believed to have taken notice of Cody’s booking in WWE, and it’s got them thinking.

Dave Meltzer is reporting that regulars within AEW, as well as some top stars, were not previously thinking about moving over to WWE.

However, in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, he says that the booking of Cody, and the big money he’s making, means that moving to WWE is now something some in AEW are considering.

Up until recently, most AEW regulars and top stars privately were not talking about going to WWE. Some indicated never wanting to leave. Obviously, the success of Cody Rhodes in WWE, plus his earning more money, has changed some minds.

One of those names could well be MJF, who reports state is unhappy in AEW right now and is very much considering moving to WWE at the end of his current contract.

AEW doesn’t do mass releases like WWE, or hasn’t yet, so any talent wanting to leave Tony Khan’s company to work for Vince McMahon’s will have to wait for their deals to come up.

However, it’s not known whether or not anyone on the AEW roster has ever asked to leave, so it’s unclear whether Tony would be willing to grant releases for people wanting to leave to work for WWE.
