Serious M4 collision causes significant delays

A "serious collision" took place on the M4 on Thursday night.

Police told drivers to avoid the area of M4 junction 38 Margam westbound where the incident took place at around 6pm.

The road was not closed, but there was significant delays in the area.

South Wales Police advised motorists to use an alternative route where possible.

There was congestion to the northbound A4229 towards the Pyle roundabout and the A48 heading towards Pyle Cross as traffic sought an alternative.

The incident cleared at around 7pm.
