Serious crash shuts main Cardiff road in both directions - live updates

Emergency services are at the scene of a serious crash in Cardiff. A section of Cowbridge Road East in the Canton area of the city is currently shut in both directions. Police, fire crews and paramedics have all been called to the scene.

Motorists have been asked to avoid the area and diversions are in place. The exact nature of the collision is not yet known but the road is expected to remain closed for some time.
