Serious crash causes closure on Snake Pass

Drivers are facing disruption this Bank Holiday Sunday after a crash on a major road into Manchester.

The A57, known as Snake Pass, is closed in both directions between Hurst Road (Royal Oak Inn, Glossop) and A6013 (Ladybower Reservoir, Bamford) due to the incident.

There are reports of two separate crashes, with the air ambulance reportedly in attendance. Traffic is reportedly being turned back as the road remains closed.

Snake Pass is the road between Manchester and Sheffield. The incident is understood to be affecting traffic between Glossop, Bamford and Sheffield.
