Serhou Guirassy sends Premier League message amid Manchester United links

Serhou Guirassy has revealed he will not “close any doors” when asked about a potential Premier League move.

Reports have suggested Manchester United are targeting the striker just months after his Stuttgart move. Summer recruit Rasmus Hojlund is still adapting to life in England's top league and is viewed as one for the future, although his Champions League performances have offered promise.

There are calls for Erik ten Hag to bolster his attacking options to ease the burden on Hojlund - and Guirassy fits the bill. The Guinean international has exploded in the Bundesliga this season, bagging 15 goals in 10 games.

A hamstring injury in recent weeks has allowed Harry Kane to overtake him in the top-scorer charts but he bagged on his return from the bench a fortnight ago. Guirassy is cheap, too, with various sources claiming he has a £14.5million release clause which is active until next summer.

The striker has flirted with the idea of joining a Premier League club but did not rule out a move elsewhere on the continent. He told The Guardian last week: "I cannot hide these things. Everyone knows the Premier League is one of the most competitive leagues in the world but, at this time, I don’t close any doors.

"There are some very big teams in Europe and it’s not focused only on the Premier League. At Stuttgart, we have such a good team and everything is possible in football. If we can continue to be humble like we have been so far then we have a good chance.”
