Paul Scholes tells Rasmus Hojlund what to do to break Premier League duck at Manchester United

Paul Scholes says Rasmus Hojlund must concentrate on his finishing if he is to break his Premier League duck.

The Dane has failed to score in 13 league outings, although has five in the Champions League. With United now out of Europe, Hojlund will be tasked with getting goals in the league and FA Cup.

The attacker had United’s best chance of the game in Sunday’s 0-0 draw with Liverpool, managing to fire in a shot at Alisson from inside the area during the second half. He failed to get the ball past the Liverpool goalkeeper, though, and so his wait for a Premier League goal continues.

Scholes says United looked “very comfortable” while operating a low defensive block despite holding just 31% of the possession and said his former club had the opportunity to steal the win through Hojlund.

“I thought they did well and stood up to everything Liverpool threw at them,” Scholes told Premier League Productions. “I thought during the game they were very comfortable.

“Liverpool had some half-chances but nothing really clear cut and they could have nicked that game in the end. Hojlund had the best chance of the game and didn’t score it.

“We know he hasn’t got a Premier League goal yet and he needs to tidy up that finishing side of his game. The concentration needs to be there whether you're a goalkeeper, centre-half or centre-forward because they are key moments. They can change his career at Manchester United so far, scoring a winning goal at Anfield, it’s a big thing to do.
