Security guards left injured after violent attack at Manchester Five Guys

Security guards were left injured after a violent attack at a Five Guys restaurant near Piccadilly Gardens. The incident erupted on December 27 last year, at around 7pm.

Police were called to an incident at the popular restaurant chain, on Piccadilly, and found that two security guards from the venue had been injured following a 'confrontation'.

Their injuries were not life-threatening or life-changing, Greater Manchester Police said. Following the incident, an investigation was launched.

From conducting initial enquires, officers now want to identify two men who they believe have vital information that could help with the investigation.

CCTV images of the pair have been released by the force. No arrests have been made at this stage but enquiries are ongoing.

PC Tom Wyatt from Operation Vulcan said; “When we were made aware of this incident over the festive period we’ve ensured we have explored all available opportunities to find those responsible, but are now in a position to appeal to the public to further assist us, especially these two men who we believe can help with our enquiries.

“As a team we are constantly patrolling this key area within the city centre to ensure the safety of residents and those visiting.

"If anyone has information, they are asked to call 101 direct quoting incident 2495 of 27/12/2024. Alternatively, details can be passed on anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
