Scottish FA confirm that fixtures will be played this weekend

Scottish FA chiefs have confirmed that games will go ahead this weekend as planned.

A fixtures wipe-out took place last weekend, as a mark of respect following the death on Thursday of Queen Elizabeth II, aged 96.

While the monarch's funeral will take place on Monday, games have been given the go-ahead this weekend, as long as they don't fall on that day, and subject to Police Scotland resourcing.

Hosting clubs have been given the option of holding a period of silence and/or playing the national anthem just before kick-off. Players can wear black armbands if they choose to.

A Scottish FA statement read: "We thank clubs and league organisations for the mark of respect shown at the weekend and for their efforts in resuming the professional game fixture schedule."
