ITV confirms Coronation Street return and This Morning special as it releases Monday schedule after Queen's death

ITV has confirmed its schedule for Monday following changes to its schedule after the death of Queen Elizabeth II. There has been an outpouring of shock and sadness after it was announced on Thursday that the nation's longest-serving monarch had passed away aged 96 after a 70 year reign.

As a result, broadcasters have reverted to continuous news coverage and documentaries paying homage to the sovereign and scrapped planned programming. But as ITV reintroduces some of its normal programming, it has announced that Coronation Street will return tomorrow (September 11) with the episode that was pulled from the schedule on Friday September 9.

There will also be a special edition of This Morning, hosted by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby at a later than usual time. Good Morning Britain will start at 6am and run until 10am, presented by Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard, followed at 10am by an ITV News special The King’s Tour - Westminster.

Then at 11am This Morning will feature stories and memories from people who met The Queen during her reign. This will be followed by the ITV News special Queen Elizabeth II: Lying At Rest at 1pm which will continue throughout the afternoon.

Late afternoon programming will follow at 4.30pm with Tipping Point: Best Ever Finals and The Chase at 5pm before returning to Regional News at 6pm and an extended ITV Evening News at 6.30pm which will run through early evening until 8pm.

At 8pm ITV will return to scheduled programming with Coronation Street followed by the Aidan Turner thriller The Suspect at 9pm. There will be an extended ITV News At Ten at 10pm and then at 11pm
