Scott Wright blasts Birmingham winner on dream debut as Rangers fan wonders 'maybe we're the problem'

Scott Wright offered Rangers a glimpse of what they'll be missing as he hit a stoppage time winner on his Birmingham City debut.

The winger made the move to St Andrews on a three-year deal on transfer deadline day as Philippe Clement cleared up space and freed up funds to bring in new faces Neraysho Kasanwirjo and Nemid Bajrami. Wright joined up with former Ibrox teammate Ben Davies, who joined Blues on loan the previous week.

And Wright was the hero as he came off the bench to net a 92nd minute winner for Chris davies' side, who kept up their strong start to the season with a dramatic 2-1 win over Wigan. Davies dropped huge money on deadline day, splashing £10million on Jay Stanfield from Fulham - a deal that could rise to £15m and has already smashed the record for a League One transfer. But it was Wright who stole the headlines, clamming into the roof of the net from close range after Thelo Aasgaard had cancelled out Alfie May's first half opener.

Naturally, Gers fans have been left wondering if their club has done the right thing. One replied to a clip of Wright's goal with: "The finish. The passionate celebration. Where the f*** was all this when he was at us?

Another added: "Watch them go and sell him for £6m next season," which posed the question from another: " We had a sell on right?" And there was some big picture tinking from one ponderous punter who simply stated: "Maybe we're the problem."
